Melian is a metalcore band from Buenos Aires, Argentina .
history
Melian was founded in 2008 in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires. Founding members are Martín Beas Nuñez ( vocals ), Alejandro Picardi ( electric bass ), Hernán Rodriguez ( electric guitar , vocals) and Alejandro Picardi ( drums ). The musicians in the group are of Argentinian and Peruvian origins. In the founding year, the EP Melian was recorded with four tracks, which was only published digitally.
The band has played with Alesana , Black Veil Brides , Story of the Year , Silverstein , A Day to Remember and A Skylit Drive . The group played with Silverstein at the Morrison Fest 3 in February 2009 in Lima . Melian was able to perform at a music festival in Peru through the contact of the Peruvian band members . Melian also played on the NOSOYROCK and the Resistance Tour. With Andrés Blanco Druetta's entry as a drummer in 2011, Alejandro Picardi became the band's singer. In addition to appearances with international stars, the group also played with bands such as Deny, En Nuestros Corazones , Nueva Ética , Plan Cuatro (Plan 4), Clay , Mi Ultima Solucion and Valor Interior .
In March 2011, the group released their debut album Entre espectros y fantasmas on the Firme y Alerta label . Coralies also released her debut album on this label . It was produced in Infire Studios by Javier Casas , who also worked for DENY and Dar Sangre . The group switched to Pinhead Records and released their follow-up album on December 3, 2012 under the title Semper Fidelis on the label. As with the debut, Javier Casas was the producer of the album. After a DVD called Juntos movemos montañas was released in spring 2014 , Epitafios, the band's third studio album , was released on October 25, 2014 . After the group had toured mainly on a national level, appearances followed in Peru and Colombia , where the band first appeared. In October 2015 the band played for the first time in Paraguay .
Notoriety
Melian is one of the better-known bands in the national metalcore scene in Argentina, which not least led to support appearances for several international scene greats. The band has already played as support for Alesana and A Skylit Drive , which stopped in Buenos Aires on December 7th and 8th, 2010 as part of the “The Emptiness” tour . On January 14th, 2012 Melian was the opener for Black Veil Brides in Groove, in Palermo , Buenos Aires.
In June 2011 Melian was together with Deny support for A Day to Remember at the Teatro Colegiales . At the Morrison Fest 3, which took place on February 8, 2009 in Lima , the capital of Peru , Melian had the opportunity to play with Silverstein . There is also a concert with Story of the Year .
The group also played with well-known nationally known bands, gave concerts in Argentina , Peru and Chile . In Chile the group played with Sudarshana and Cenizas, among others .
style
The group plays metalcore , in which the vocals alternate between screams and clear vocals, which is why the group can also be classified as post-hardcore . The music is also influenced by the screamo . The texts of the group are all written in Spanish .
