Meuchefitz is: (sitting of Mych Slavic) Part of the municipality coasts in the Samtgemeinde Lüchow (Wendland) in Lower Saxony Lüchow-Dannenberg .

Meuchefitz is a round building with seven four-column houses , which are grouped around a kidney-shaped village square.

The place to which the district Seerau im Drawehn belongs is five kilometers west of Lüchow .

history

As part of the municipal reform in 1972, the previously independent municipality of Meuchefitz became a part of the coastal area.

The inn in Meuchefitz is known in the region for its relevant involvement in the Gorleben protest and its self-administration. In the past it was the target of house searches by the police and is now a meeting place for the left-wing protest scene. After a fire in 1983 traveling journeymen and the craftsmen collective Axt und Kelle helped with the construction.

Meuchefitz Church

The Evangelical-Lutheran stone church is a rectangular building with an equally wide, semicircular choir . Both date from around 1500, while the western part and the tower connection were renewed with brickwork in the 19th century. The one with ornaments ornate paintings and pulpit altar is from the year 1706. In the church one is off coasts derived Marientod -relief issued from the 15th century. In the relief, the dying Mary is surrounded by the twelve disciples. There is also a baptismal angel in the church that is still used today. The parish of Meuchefitz has a common pastoral office with the parishes of Coasts , Krummasel, Zebelin and Wittfeitzen.
