Location of Krummasel in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district

Krummasel (formerly Crummasel) is a village in the municipality coasts in the Samtgemeinde Lüchow (Wendland) in Lower Saxony Lüchow-Dannenberg . The Rundling is still recognizable as such, but has changed significantly over time. The break-through of the road to the north to Breselenz and the expansion in the south of the Rundling are disturbing . The church is located west of the Rundling on the edge of the village.

location

The place is 9 km northwest of Lüchow north of the county road from Lübeln to Metzingen on the northern edge of a Geestrücken between the Grabower and the Lübelner Mühlenbach.

history

The oldest mention of Krummasel is 1289 as Gromaßle . Initially with eight hook yards , the Rundling developed into a large place by Wendland standards with 23 campfire sites by the 18th century . 18 courtyards are arranged around the village square, accessible from the south. The other farms with the rectory, school, inn and smithy are grouped around the church at the western exit of the village . In 1903 a volunteer fire brigade was founded. The school closed in 1967. As part of the municipal reform in 1972, the previously independent municipality of Krummasel became a part of the coastal area. The population decreased in the last 150 years from over two hundred (1848) to less than eighty inhabitants. The local fire brigade merged with the Tüschau volunteer fire brigade in 2009 . The fire station is in Tüschau.

church

Krummasel has probably been a church since the 12th century . The church originally consisted of field stones and bricks . In 1895, today's Christ Church was built under the supervision of Conrad Wilhelm Hase . The new church building received an organ from Furtwängler & Hammer from Hanover . The parish Krummasel was previously united with Wittfeitzen. From 1957 the parish was connected to the coast. Today she has a common parish with the parishes of Coasts , Meuchefitz , Zebelin and Wittfeitzen .
