Michael Johannes Kühntopf (born August 11, 1957 in Düsseldorf ; Name 1987–2006: Michael Johannes Kühntopf-Gentz ) is a German - Swiss publicist and author with a focus on Judaism . After moving to Switzerland (2005), he also published for a while on Swiss topics (especially culture and language).

Life

Michael Kühntopf grew up in Düsseldorf and Hilden . His father (1935–1993) was a war refugee from Meseritz . His mother (1933–2009) came from Thuringia . From 1973, after completing secondary school in Düsseldorf, he trained as an administrative clerk at the State Statistical Office . After attending the technical college for economics and military service as a regular soldier (1976–1978), Kühntopf attended evening grammar school from 1979 to 1982 and acquired the general university entrance qualification . From 1983 to 1987 studied Kühn pot at the University of Tübingen and in Jerusalem religious studies , philosophy and Catholic theology with completion MA and 1990 in Tübingen with a biography of the Jewish writer and was early Zionists Nathan Birnbaum doctorate .

He lives with his family in Brügg , Canton Bern , in the Swiss region of Zealand .

activities

After completing his studies and doctorate, Kühntopf initially worked as a sales representative for a telecommunications office , then for the general management of Deutsche Telekom . From 1992 to 2004 he worked as a strategic planner and consultant for an advertising agency . He also worked in Düsseldorf as the owner of a model agency and as a gallery owner and real estate agent. Kühntopf has been working as a freelance writer , journalist and consultant in Switzerland since 2005 ; since 2011 he has been a member of the Swiss Writers' Association (AdS).

Between November 1996 and June 1998, Kühntopf conducted 15 documented conversations with surviving victims of the Nazi dictatorship in Germany as an interviewer for the Shoah Foundation - with Jewish survivors of the Holocaust , survivors of Jehovah's Witnesses and survivors of political persecution - including Ilse Arndt , Kenda and Jacob Bar-Gera and Rolf Kralovitz .

The author runs the Jewiki , an online encyclopedia with a focus on Judaism, with over 170,000 articles, almost all of which were taken from Wikipedia . In September 2017, Kühntopf called on the main page of the Jewiki to vote for the right-wing populist AfD in the federal election . Kühntopf shares slogans and conspiracy theories of right-wing angry citizens and right-wing extremists via his Facebook page .
