Michael Langer (theologian)

Michael Langer (born August 11, 1960 in Bamberg ) is a German Catholic theologian and has been an adjunct professor for religious education at the University of Regensburg since 1999 . Since 2012 he has also been a professor at the Kirchlich Pädagogische Hochschule Wien / Krems and is currently leading the master's program "Religion-Culture-Spirituality" for the third time. Langer has been a deacon of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising and pastor in Oberaudorf am Inn / Upper Bavaria since 1988 ; in Vienna he helps in the cathedral parish office in Vienna.

Education

After graduating from high school in Hassfurt in 1979, Langer studied Catholic theology , philosophy, pedagogy and psychology at the Universities of Innsbruck , Munich , Salzburg and Vienna as well as at the School of Philosophy / Philosophical Faculty SJ. Since 1982 he has been a member of the Catholic student association KDStV Aenania Munich . In 1983 he obtained his Magister Artium and in 1985 his licentiate in theology in Munich. In 1986 he obtained a doctorate in philosophy at the University of Vienna , in 1993, he was in a habilitation for the subject "Religious Education and Kerygmatik " the degree of habilitated awarded Doctor of Theology.

Teaching

Teaching assignments at the universities of Salzburg, Graz and Wuppertal; since 1994 private lecturer for religious education at the University of Regensburg; since 1999 adjunct professor; 2000–2005 substitute for the C-4 professorship for religious education and didactics at the Technical University of Dortmund ; since then back at the University of Regensburg and the Kirchlich Pädagogische Hochschule Wien - Krems; numerous guest lectures at home and abroad
