Mihara ( Japanese 三原 市 ) is a city in Hiroshima Prefecture in Japan .

Mihara is east of Hiroshima and west of Fukuyama on the Seto Inland Sea .

history

Mihara is an old castle town ( Jōkamachi ), in whose castle Mihara a branch of the Asano resided.

The city of Mihara was named an independent city ( shi ) on November 15, 1936 .

Mihara train station

Mihara is accessible from Hiroshima Airport. The city is connected to the San'yō Highway , National Road 2 to Osaka and Kitakyūshū and National Roads 185, 432 and 486. By train, you can take the JR West San'yō Shinkansen to Tokyo and Hakata from Mihara Station , and the JR San'yō Main Line to Kobe and Kitakyushu. Mihara Station is also on the JR Kure Line .
