Miro Zryd (born November 3, 1994 in Adelboden ) is a Swiss ice hockey player who has been under contract with EV Zug from the National League since 2018 . His great-aunt Annerösli Zryd became the 1970 ski world champion in downhill skiing.

Career

Zryd grew up in Adelboden in the Bernese Oberland, where he learned to play ice hockey at the local club, EHC Adelboden . In the 2010/11 season he came for the Fanion team to his debut in the first division (third highest division). For the 2013/14 season he switched to the SCL Tigers ' junior team , where Zryd was on the ice for the elite juniors.

After the 2013/14 season he could no longer play for the juniors and initially received no offer for a professional contract. Therefore, the defender returned to Adelboden. A call to Tigers' sports director Jörg Reber then led to Zryd's pre-season preparation in Langnau and his first professional contract. In his first professional season 2014/15 he won the NLB championship with the Tigers and rose to the top division, the National League A , with the Tigers .

In autumn 2017 he signed a contract with EV Zug , which was valid from the 2018/19 season. In spring 2018 he was in the Swiss national team for the first time. As part of the preparations for the World Cup, he played four international matches.
