Andreas Martinsen (born June 13, 1990 in Bærum ) is a Norwegian ice hockey player who was last under contract with EV Zug in the Swiss National League .
Career
Andreas Martinsen began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth department of Rosenborg IK . From there he moved to the junior division of the Lillehammer IK , for whose professional team he was initially active in the top Norwegian league from 2006 to 2009 . For the 2009/10 season , the center was committed by Leksands IF from HockeyAllsvenskan , the second Swedish division. For Leksand he scored three goals and two assists in 22 games before being loaned back to Lillehammer IK until the end of the season. From summer 2010 he was again under contract with Lillehammer IK in Norway. After the 2012 World Cup in Sweden and Finland, he signed a 1-year contract in Germany with the Düsseldorfer EG.
After a total of three years in Düsseldorf, he signed a one-year contract with the Colorado Avalanche from the National Hockey League (NHL) in May 2015 , but also stayed with the Denver team . At the trade deadline on March 1, 2017, however, Martinsen was given to Canadiens de Montréal in exchange for Sven Andrighetto . Just seven months later, he was transferred to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Kyle Baun . There he was mainly active for the Rockford IceHogs in the American Hockey League (AHL) for two years before moving to the Anaheim Ducks as a free agent in July 2019 . However, at the end of October they gave the winger, including a seven-round vote in the NHL Entry Draft 2021, to the Pittsburgh Penguins , who in return sent Erik Gudbranson to Anaheim.
After no NHL missions were in prospect in the organization of the penguins, it was agreed in January 2020 to terminate his contract. Martinsen then left North America after more than four years and joined the EV Zug from the Swiss National League .
International
For Norway, Martinsen took part in the junior division at the U18 World Junior Championships in Division I in 2007 and 2008 and the U20 World Junior Championships in Division I in 2008 , 2009 and 2010 , when he was the third best scorer and goalscorer of the tournament behind his compatriots Scott Winkler and Jonas Djupvik Løvlie was part of it.
In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at all World Championships from 2010 to 2017 and 2019 . He also represented his colors in the Olympic qualification for the Winter Games in Pyeongchang 2018 .
