Santeri Alatalo (born May 9, 1990 in Tampere ) is a Finnish ice hockey player with a Swiss license who has been under contract with EV Zug in the National League A since 2013 . His father Matti Alatalo was also an active ice hockey player and is now a coach.
Career
Alatalo was on the ice as a junior player for JYP before joining Hämeenlinnan Pallokerho in 2007 . For this, the Finnish defender initially played a few games in the youth leagues. In the course of the 2008/09 season , his debut in the SM-liiga followed , with Alatalo playing four games in the Finnish top division by the end of the season. The left-handed shooter spent most of this and the following season in the U20 team of Hämeenlinnan Pallokerho and also played a few games as a loan player in the Mestis .
In the 2010/11 season , the defensive player made his breakthrough in the SM-liiga when Alatalo was on the ice in 59 games of the regular season and scored ten points . In October 2012 he was signed by HC Davos from the National League A , whose foreign contingent he is not burdened due to a Swiss license. The defender was also in action for the Bündner in December 2012 at the traditional Spengler Cup .
From the 2013/14 season Alatalo played for EV Zug from the National League A.
