production

In January 2019 it was announced that two sequels to Mission: Impossible - Fallout are being planned, which will be released in US cinemas in the summers of 2021 and 2022. Christopher McQuarrie will once again be responsible for both the direction and the script , while Tom Cruise will take on the role of IMF agent Ethan Hunt for the eighth time . The return of actors Ving Rhames , Rebecca Ferguson and Vanessa Kirby as well as composer Lorne Balfe has also been confirmed. Furthermore, after Mission: Impossible from 1996 , Henry Czerny will have an appearance as Eugene Kittridge in both the seventh and eighth part of the film series . In September 2019, Hayley Atwell confirmed that after Mission: Impossible 7, she would also appear in Mission: Impossible 8 and that she would play the leading female role in both films. As an opponent of Ethan Hunt , Nicholas Hoult was initially cast for both films . Due to the forced break caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the related scheduling conflicts with another project, he was later replaced by Esai Morales . In November 2019, director McQuarrie confirmed that Pom Klementieff would appear in the film , as did Shea Whigham , as the director announced a month later.

The film is to be shot back-to-back with Mission: Impossible 7 . Most of the filming will take place in Warner Bros. Studios, Leavesden . As in the previous film, Fraser Taggart will act as cameraman . Eddie Hamilton , on the other hand, will be working as a film editor on a Mission Impossible film for the fourth time .

The film was originally scheduled to hit US cinemas on August 5, 2022, but was postponed to November 4, 2022 in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic . The German theatrical release should take place the day before.
