Right in the heart is the fourth studio album by Frei.Wild , the German rock band from Brixen in the Italian province of Bolzano-South Tyrol . It was released on March 15, 2006 on the Magdeburg independent label Asphalt Records in a first edition of 2000 CDs (including DVD) and 500 LPs. More than 6000 copies had been sold by the end of 2007. On October 9th, 2009 the album was re-released without DVD on Frei.Wild's new label Rookies & Kings .
Music style and content
The album consists almost exclusively of rocking pieces (e.g. Weiter, weiter , Ich laugh über dich ), only the song satisfaction contains quieter passages. The topics on Mitten ins Herz revolve around the cohesion of the band ( fire, earth, water, air ) and against traitors ( asshole ). The song Black & White deals with the opposites in the world. In the bonus song Brixen of the first version from 2006, the band criticizes the current state of the city and, as on the previous albums, once again reveals a strongly patriotic to nationalistic attitude.
The first version from 2006 also contains the bonus song Brixen and a 24-minute DVD containing three music videos for the songs Black & White , Der aufrechte Weg and Südtirol , as well as an interview.
Cover design
The album cover shows a red heart that is wrapped in a ribbon with the inscription Mitten ins Herz . The background is orange-black and in the upper part of the picture is the word Frei.Wild .

The album received mostly positive reviews
- The site punkrocknews.de gave the album four out of a possible five points and certified the band a musical improvement:
" Musically, Frei.Wild have always managed to improve. With this album I was able to find out that this has not changed this time either. Popular hits like 'Das Land der Vollidioten' or 'Der Aufrechte Weg' provide rock anthems again this time, which also have a lot to say. […] But it has to be said that this time, too, a few songs seem rather average in the overall picture and thus ensure that the album sags a little from time to time. […] Conclusion: The music is awesome. If you like German rock and have already listened to the old Frei.Wild things, you should grab it! "
- The site stormbringer.at gave the album four out of a possible five points and emphasized the great similarity to the Onkelz's music :
“ You can already see quite a few connections to their great role model, but they retain their independence, as they sound more punk than the Onkelz. Otherwise they combine all the advantages of the Onkelz, such as catchy melodies and sing-along hymns. Of course, they don't have that much experience by far and are therefore a bit simple-minded with sometimes very striking statements. [...] Some of the songs are very rousing and have catchy tunes every now and then. [...] So to all of you who mourn Unclez afterwards [sic!], Here you have a worthy replacement. "
