Muhi [ ˈmuhi ] is a municipality in what is now Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County . The place is on the main street 35 .
Geographical location
Muhi is located approx. 15 km south of Miskolc in Hungary near the confluence of Sajó and Hornád . The Hungarian wine-growing town of Tokaj is also nearby . Neighboring communities are Hejőkeresztúr 5 km, Köröm 4 km, Nagycsécs 3 km and Ónod 4 km. The nearest town Nyékládháza is 7 km away from Muhi.
history
The place became famous through the battle of Muhi , in which on April 10, 1241 the troops of Batu Khan defeated a Hungarian army led by King Béla IV .
