criticism

TV critic Rainer Tittelbach , who described the crime thriller as “ ready-made goods ”, had negative criticism . However, Tittelbach praised the cast, especially the guest roles, which would set themselves apart from other casts and thus make Istanbul as a place of action credible.

“The story of 'Blood Ties' is not very original, the plot is very stereotypical, and creating tension has never been the declared aim of 'Murder Commission Istanbul'. Telegenic Mediterranean fair-weather thriller, in which at least the cast is right. "

- Rainer Tittelbach : Series "Murder Commission Istanbul - Blood Ties"

Hans Czerny from teleschau described the crime thriller as "comic-like" and the subplot, which tells of Özakin's wife hosting a trainee lawyer from the school program at his home, in a review for the Heilbronn voice as more entertaining than the main story.

The program magazine TV Spielfilm also described the film as mediocre and came to the following conclusion: “A simple, knitted case that does not delve into interesting topics” and “Superficial crime fiction in a nice setting”.
