Moritz Bernd Pristauz-Telsnigg (born March 23, 1996 in Graz ) is an Austrian beach volleyball player .

Career

Pristauz comes from a volleyball family. His grandfather was a coach and his parents were active as players. As a youth he played indoors at UVC Graz, but then switched to beach volleyball. At the U18 European Championship in 2013 in Maladsetschna, he and Paul Buchegger were only defeated in the final by the Russians Stojanowski / Jarsutkin . In 2014 he achieved some top ten results on the national tour with changing partners. At the U19 World Cup in Porto , he finished fifth with Johannes Kratz , while he was eliminated early on at the U20 European Championship in Cesenatico with Philipp Waller .

In 2015 Pristauz formed a duo with Martin Ermacora - initially on the national tour . However, he made his first appearance on the FIVB World Tour with Simon Frühbauer at the Gstaad Major, where he failed in the qualification. At the U22 European Championship in Macedo de Cavaleiros , Ermacora / Pristauz finished fifth. At the U20 European Championship in Larnaka , Pristauz played with Felix Friedl and came in 17th place. At the Xiamen Open, Ermacora / Pristauz then took part in a FIVB World Tour tournament together for the first time and came in ninth immediately in the top ten. In 2016 they completed their first Grand Slam tournament in Rio de Janeiro . With Friedl, Pristauz was ninth at the U21 World Cup in Lucerne . At the CEV satellite tournament in Baden , Ermacora / Pristauz came in seventh, while they stayed in the rear on the World Tour. At the major in Klagenfurt they came in 17th place as well as at the CEV Masters in Jūrmala . Between these two tournaments Pristauz was with Maximilian Trummer in Thessaloniki after a final defeat against the Norwegian duo Mol / Sørum Vice-European Champion of the U22.

In 2017 Ermacora / Pristauz took 17th place again at the three-star tournament in Xiamen . At the U22 European Championship in Baden, Pristauz won the bronze medal with Paul Buchegger. For the world championship in Vienna they received a wild card after the selection by the Austrian volleyball association and took 17th place there.

In 2018 the beach volleyball team Ermacora / Pristauz in Vienna reached the 9th place in the 5-star FIVB major tournament on the Danube Island. Pristauz achieved their greatest success so far in 2019 at the European Championships in Moscow , with the ÖVV duo winning the bronze medal with partner Martin Ermacora.
