Moschenskoje ( Russian Мошенско́е ) is a village (selo) in the Novgorod Oblast in Russia with 2505 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).

The place is about 200 km as the crow flies east of the administrative center of Veliky Novgorod and 40 km northeast of the city of Borowitschi on the river Uwer , a right tributary of the Msta .

Moschenskoje is the administrative center of the Rajons Moschenskoi and seat and only town in the rural community Moschenskoje selskoje posselenije.

history

A small church village (called pogost , as is customary in northern Russia ) in the area of ​​today's town was first mentioned in a document in 1581. From 1773 the area belonged to Ujesd Borowitschi, which in 1796 became part of the Novgorod governorate . The village gained greater importance in the 19th century when it became the seat of the Nikolo-Moschenskaya volost .

In 1927 Moschenskoje became the seat of a Rajon named after him. From February 1, 1963 to January 12, 1965, the Rajon was temporarily dissolved and its territory joined the Borowitschski rajon.

By the location and further the Uwer up to the village Ustreka at the south end of the Koroboscha -Sees extends a side road, which is about 10 km south of Moschenskoje from the regional road 49K-14 Waldai  - Borovichi - Pestovo branches, one in the oblast Wologda in the direction Ustyuschna leading cross connection (formerly R8) between the federal trunk road M10 and A114 .

The nearest train station is in Borowitschi, the end of a branch line from Uglowka on the St. Petersburg - Moscow line .
