The municipality Betanzos is a district in the Department of Potosí in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The municipality Betanzos is one of three municipalities in the province of Cornelio Saavedra . It is bordered to the north by the Chuquisaca , on the south by José María Linares Province , to the west by the municipality Chaqui , on the west by the Tomás Frías Province , and on the northwest by the municipality Tacobamba . It extends for about 60 kilometers in a north-south and over 100 kilometers in an east-west direction.

The central place in the municipality is the town of Betanzos with 4,632 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) in the southwestern part of the district.
