The Municipio San Lucas is a district in the Chuquisaca Department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The municipality of San Lucas is one of three municipalities in the province of Nor Cinti and includes its northern area. It is bordered to the north and west by the Potosí department , to the southwest by the municipality of Camargo , to the southeast by the municipality of Incahuasi , and to the east by the province of Azurduy .

The municipality extends between about 19 ° 46 'and 20 ° 31' south latitude and 64 ° 33 'and 65 ° 18' west longitude, its extent from west to east as well as from north to south is up to 75 kilometers.

The municipality comprises 152 municipalities ( localidades ), the central place of the municipality is the town of San Lucas with 1,941 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) in the central part of the district.

The municipality of San Lucas is located on the southwestern foothills of the Bolivian Cordillera Central , between the Altiplano in the west and the Bolivian lowlands in the east.
