The Municipio Tomina is a district in the Chuquisaca Department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The Municipio Tomina is one of five Municipios of the Tomina Province and includes its northwestern area. It borders the province of Jaime Zudáñez in the northwest and west , the municipality Sopachuy in the south, the municipality Villa Alcalá in the southeast , the municipality Padilla in the east, and the province Belisario Boeto in the northeast .
The municipality extends approximately between 18 ° 51 'and 19 ° 22' south latitude and 64 ° 22 'and 64 ° 36' west longitude, its extent from west to east is up to 25 kilometers, from north to south up to 55 kilometers .
The municipality comprises 125 municipalities ( localidades ), the central place of the municipality is the town of Tomina with 1,523 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) in the western part of the district.

The Municipio Tomina is located in the transition area between the Andes mountain range of the Cordillera Central and the Bolivian lowlands. The region's climate is mild and balanced.
The mean average temperature of the region is around 19 ° C (see climate diagram) and fluctuates only slightly between 16 ° C in June and July and almost 21 ° C from November to January.
