Murat Akın (born October 22, 1986 in Sint-Niklaas ) is a former Belgian - Turkish football player . He gained attention from the Turkish sports press because he and his clubs had been promoted from the TFF 1st Lig to the Süper Lig seven times . Of these seven ascents, he achieved six in a row between 2010 and 2016.

Career

Murat Akın started his professional career at KSK Beveren , where he only made two professional league appearances and finally joined FC Nieuwkerken-St. Niklaas moved to the third highest division in the country, where he became a regular player. In spring 2008 he moved to the Turkish first division club Kasımpaşa and became a regular here as well. After his club could not achieve relegation at the end of the season, he played in the TFF 1st Lig in the coming season . Here he and his team managed to get promoted back to the Süper Lig . In the 2009/10 season he lost his regular place under the new coach Yılmaz Vural and made ten league games as a substitute.

For the new season he was loaned to the second division Orduspor . With his new team he reached promotion to the Süper Lig via the play-off phase of the TFF 1st Lig .

For the 2011/12 season he returned to Kasımpaşa, who is now playing second-rate again. Here he got his regular seat again under the new coach Uğur Tütüneker , with whom he had already worked at Orduspor. Towards the end of the season, Tütüneker was replaced by Metin Diyadin like last season at Orduspor . Diyadin also set Akın again. Like last season, Orduspor reached the playoff finals of the TFF 1st Lig with this one . Here they prevailed in overtime 2: 3 against Adanaspor and achieved promotion to the Süper Lig .

For the 2012/13 season he moved to the first division team Antalyaspor on a free transfer . After he was almost exclusively on the bench until the winter break, his contract was terminated at the winter break after mutual agreement with the club's management.

A few days after his contract termination with Antalyaspor, his move to the second division Torku Konyaspor was announced. With this club he achieved promotion to the süper Lig via the playoff win and thus achieved this success with three different clubs in a row.

In the summer of 2013 he moved to the first division club Kayseri Erciyesspor . He left this club for the next second half of the season and then hired the second division Istanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor . With this club he finished the season as a champion and rose to the Süper Lig.

For the winter break of 2014/15 he was loaned to second division club Kayserispor . Also with this club he reached the second division championship and thus promotion to the Süper Lig. Akın was honored to have reached the first division promotion five times in a row. After the end of the season he returned to Istanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor, which the club he changed his club to in Istanbul Başakşehir in the summer of 2014 .

For the 2015/16 season he moved to the second division Kardemir Karabükspor . With this club he ended the season as runner-up and rose for the seventh time, including six times in a row, with a team in the Süper Lig.

In the summer of 2016 he moved to Switzerland for the second division club FC Wil . He returned to Turkey at the beginning of 2017 and joined the second division team Göztepe Izmir . With this club too, he achieved promotion to the Süper Lig at the end of the season.

For the 2017/18 season he moved to the third division team Sakaryaspor and only six months later to Kardemir Karabükspor in the Süper Lig .

This was followed by two more stations in the lower divisions of Turkey . In January 2019 he moved again to Belgium , to SK Sint-Niklaas . In July of the same year he announced the end of his career.
