Mutya Keisha Siobhan is one of London dating British pop - girl group consisting of the Sugababes -Gründerinnen Mutya Buena , Keisha Buchanan and Siobhán Donaghy .
Prehistory and foundation
In 1998 the three band members founded the Sugababes . After the release of the debut album One Touch , Donaghy left the band and was replaced by Heidi Range . After the Sugababes had released three more albums, Buena left the band in late 2005 and was replaced by Amelle Berrabah . In September 2009 the last founding member Buchanan left the trio and was replaced by Jade Ewen .
The first indications of a reunion came in early 2012 when both Buchanan and Buena announced via their Twitter accounts that they were in the studio with "two women". A little later, singer-songwriter Emeli Sandé also confirmed to MTV News that she was working on material for the band . On July 20, 2012, the members announced the reunion via their Twitter accounts. The band's music has since appeared on the Polydor record label . Since the band Sugababes still existed at the time of the reunion , a combination of the singers' first names was chosen as the band name.
Since 2013: New studio album
Collaborations with artists such as Katy B and Shaznay Lewis , a former All Saints member, became known for the album . As a first taste of new music, an a cappella version of the song Boys was uploaded to Buchanan's YouTube account in January 2013 . On March 14, 2013 the song Lay Down in Swimming Pools by Devonte Hynes, the producer, was released on his SoundCloud page. The song is a cover of the song Swimming Pools (Drank) by Kendrick Lamar and was created while the band was recording for the new album. In addition, the band was heard in a remix of the song Entertainment by the group Phoenix . The song was released on March 26th and was also produced by Dev Hynes. He is also the producer of the first single called Flatline , which was released on September 15, 2013 in the UK . There the song reached number 50 on the charts.
The band's first official joint concert in 12 years took place on August 1, 2013 in London. The performance - in which they sang five new songs in addition to well-known Sugababes songs - was highly praised by both fans and critics. Another headlining appearance took place on August 25th at Manchester Pride . A tour through the United Kingdom followed in November 2013, which included six dates.
