At the 2004 NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Championships , the champions in US college tennis were determined. The game was played from May 14th to 31st. Starting May 22, all matches were played on the University of Tulsa campus in Tulsa , Oklahoma . A total of around 13,000 spectators were counted.

The defending champion in the team competition was the University of Illinois , which was top seed in 2004. It was followed by Baylor University around its top German players Benjamin Becker and Benedikt Dorsch , who were superior in the UCLA final . It was the first Big 12 school title at the tournament.

In the singles, the US American Amer Delić , who was no longer eligible to play this year, was the defending champion. His successor was Benjamin Becker, who won the second title at this tournament after the Team Championships . He won the final in two sets over the Slovak Frantisek Babej .

In doubles, Illinois’s Rajeev Ram and Brian Wilson were the defending champions. This year the Americans KC Corkery and Sam Warburg from Stanford University won . They beat Bo Hodge and John Isner of the University of Georgia in three sets in the final .
