NGC 7342 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble-type SBa constellation Pegasus in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 371 million light years from the Milky Way and about 75,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 7315 and NGC 7345 .
The Type Ia supernova SN 2010ii was observed here.
The object was discovered on September 11, 1872 by Édouard Stephan .
