The 2012/13 season was the 64th regular time of the Swiss National League A in handball . This season the league was reduced from 12 to 10 teams.
mode
The 10 teams play two double rounds of 18 games each.
Then a final round is played with the best six teams from the main round. The best four teams determine the Swiss champions in play-off style. The semi-finals and the final are played according to the best-of-five mode .
The other four teams from the main round determine the direct relegated team in a relegation round. The penultimate team of the relegation round played two barrage games against the second of the National League B.
