The national road 219 ( Chinese 219 国 道 , Pinyin 219 Guódào , English China National Highway 219 ), Chinese abbreviation G219 , is a 2,342 km long, northwest-southeast-running highway in southwest China in the autonomous regions of Xinjiang and Tibet . It branches off from the G315 national road in Kargilik and runs through the Aksai Chin area , which is claimed by India , as well as via Rutog , Gar , Zhongba , Saga , Ngamring to Lhazê , where it joins the G318 national road . The G219 leads over several passes over 5,000 m high and past the holy mountain Kailash .
