The national road 309 ( Chinese  309 国 道 , Pinyin 309 Guódào , English China National Highway 309 ), Chinese abbreviation G309 , is a 2,208 km long, east-west trunk road in east China in the provinces of Shandong , Hebei , Shanxi , Shaanxi and Gansu, and Ningxia Autonomous Region . It begins in Rongcheng on the east coast and leads via Laixi , Weifang and Zibo to the metropolis and provincial capital Jinan . From there it continues via Liaocheng , Handan , Lucheng , Tunliu , Linfen , Yichuan , Qingyang , Guyuan and Xiji to the provincial capital of Lanzhou . The central and western sections of the G309 run parallel to the G22 motorway .
