The Chinese National Road 109 ( Chinese 109 国道 , Pinyin 109 Guódào , English China National Highway 109 ), Chinese abbreviation G109 , is a 3,901 km long trunk road in the area of the governmental city of Beijing , in the provinces of Hebei , Shanxi , Gansu and Qinghai and the Inner Mongolia , Ningxia and Tibet Autonomous Regions . It leads from the capital Beijing via Yangyuan , Datong , Qingshuihe , Dongsheng , Huinong , Yinchuan and Baiyin to the metropolis of Lanzhou . From there it continues via Minhe , Xining , Golmud , Nagqu , Damxung to the Tibetan capital Lhasa .
