Nauris Bulvītis (born March 15, 1987 in Riga ) is a Latvian football player .
Career
society
Nauris Bulvītis began his career in Daugavpils , in the youth of FC Daugava . In the 2007 season Bulvītis was used for the first time in the Virslīga and completed six more games by the end of the season. The following year, the defensive player was under contract with FK Šiauliai in Lithuania and was used in 21 games of A Lyga . From 2010 to 2011 he played on loan at the Scottish club Inverness Caledonian Thistle . With the club from the Highlands Bulvītis reached the final of the Challenge Cup 2009/10 which was lost against FC Dundee after 2: 0 lead for Thistle with 2: 3. After returning to Latvia, he played for FK Ventspils for a year before Bulvītis signed a long-term contract with FC Spartak Trnava from the Slovak Corgoň league , benefiting from a successful trial session . Due to a serious injury, the tall defender did not play a competitive game. He found a new club in the Latvian second division club FK Spartaks Jūrmala with whom he rose to the Virslīga at the end of the 2011 season. During the 2013 season he moved within the Virslīga to the record champions Skonto Riga .
National team
Nauris Bulvītis, who was first appointed to the Latvian national team for the upcoming Baltic Cup in June 2012 , made his debut in the semi-finals of the tournament in a 5-0 win against Lithuania , coming on for Oļegs Laizāns in the 84th minute . In the final against Finland , Bulvītis failed to get his penalty in the final penalty shoot-out in his second international match for Latvia, but still won the title with his home country after Vladislavs Kozlovs scored the decisive goal against Finland's Henri Sillanpää to win 6-5. In the ninth appearance for the Latvians, Bulvītis scored his first goal in the national jersey in the qualifier for the 2014 World Cup against Lithuania at the Skonto Stadium in Riga.
