Nele Swanton (* 1986 in Waterford , Ireland ) is an Irish - Belgian actress .

biography

Swanton is the daughter of an Irish musician and a Belgian mother. The girl, who was born in Waterford, Ireland, grew up bilingually in a fishing town nearby. For family reasons, the family moved to Antwerp in Belgium when Swanton was three and to Rottweil in Swabia when she was four . After graduating from high school , Swanton took care of disabled people in Ireland as part of a voluntary social year , where she also found time for youth theater. From 2007 to 2011 Swanton attended the Arturo Drama School in Cologne. As part of her training, she completed a camera seminar with Dana Geissler from 2009 to 2010 and then with Dennis Todorović until 2011 .

In the 2012/2013 season Swanton was in the ensemble of the Westphalian State Theater . After initially only giving guest performances as a guest in the plays Schaf and Der goldene Drache at the Theater Aachen , she switched permanently to the ensemble of the Aachen Theater in the 2013/2014 season. Sabine Rother wrote in the Aachener Zeitung about the performance of the play Der goldene Drache by Roland Schimmelpfennig by director Ewa Teilmans that “the extremely difficult play” would be “hard work, which without its five great actors Felix Strüven , Elisabeth Ebeling , Nele Swanton, Rainer Krause , Björn Jacobsen probably could have "ended" in a disaster. The five actors, who played 17 characters in 48 scenes, are "changeable without major costume changes, textual, self-deprecating, technically perfect and [endured] a little".

In 2009 Swanton starred in Sören Helbing's short film Death TV in the role of a nerd or a hacker, in which a supercomputer acts as a mechanical executioner in a television program entitled Death-Star . In Luisa Bell's short feature film inFaustus , she took on the leading role of Gretchen alongside Jean Paul Baeck in the title role in 2010 and the role of Wendy in the short feature film Pan by Selin Hiz, which was shown in the same year . In the 2015 tragic comedy Sister Weiß by Dennis Todorović, Nele Swanton played a leading role alongside the leading actresses Željka Preksavec and Lisa Martinek , as did Beatrice Richter and Anna Ottmann . There she played Sister Ruth, who is not alone in her opinion that Sister Martha is putting too much pressure on her sister because amnesia takes time.
