Nesbitt Blaisdell

Nesbitt Blaisdell (born December 6, 1928 in New York City , New York ) is an American actor .

Life

Blaisdell began his acting career in the theater. He had his first major appearance as Abraham Lincoln in a performance by Abe Lincoln in Illinois in New Salem , Illinois . In Chicago he starred in Thornton Wilder's Our Little Town and William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing , among others in the mid-1970s . He then played for several years in New York and appeared at the American Shakespeare Festival in What you want and Julius Caesar . His other engagements included Von Mäusen und Menschen in Philadelphia , Macbeth in Milford and Three Sisters in New York. In 1990 he made his Broadway debut in The Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and between 1993 and 1994 he starred in Abe Lincoln, Illinois .

From 1981 he also received roles in film and television. At first he had a small supporting role in Miloš Forman's Ragtime , two years later he played in headhunting alongside Kirk Douglas . In the same year he played Lyndon B. Johnson in the biographical mini-series Kennedy , which was nominated for the multiple Golden Globe Award . In the 1990s he worked in Dead Man Walking - His last walk and In & Out . He starred opposite Philip Seymour Hoffman and Paul Newman in the multiple Golden Globe Award and Emmy nominated miniseries Empire Falls .

Blaisdell has been married for a second time since 1984, and he has four children from his first marriage between 1956 and 1975.
