Nicolas Jean-Christophe Escudé (born April 3, 1976 in Chartres ) is a former French tennis player . His younger brother is the soccer player Julien Escudé .

Career

Escudé, who trained with Tarik Benhabiles , among others , won four individual titles in his career. He won in Toulouse , Rotterdam (2001 and 2002) and Doha . There were also the double titles in Marseille and Paris in 2002. He also reached the individual finals in Marseille in the same year, which he lost to Thomas Enqvist 7: 6, 3: 6 and 1: 6, and in 2000 the final von 's-Hertogenbosch , in which he lost to Patrick Rafter 1: 6 and 3: 6.

In June 2000 he reached his best world ranking position with 17th place . On May 18, 2006, he announced his retirement from professional sport because of a persistent shoulder injury that had prevented him from playing for 22 months.
