Nielebock is a village and part of the unified municipality of Jerichow in the Jerichower Land district in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

Nielebock is located on the northern edge of a forest area between Parey and Rathenow on Kreisstraße 1196. The road connects Nielebock with its neighboring towns of Genthin in the east and Ferchland in the west. The Schaugraben flows around the village, on the other side of which there are extensive agricultural areas.

Seedorf belongs to the village of Nielebock.

history

The place name Nielebock comes from the Slavic and was previously also written "Nylebuck". The village was first mentioned in 1383. In 1454 the Koneke family from Stendal was enfeoffed by the Archbishop of Magdeburg with interest on grain in "Nylebugk". Another written mention comes from the year 1563. Together with Seedorf , it was owned from 1773 by the Counts of Wartensleben, who were based in Karow .

After Brandenburg came to power in 1680, both places were incorporated into the Jerichower district with the main town of Genthin. This became the Prussian district of Jerichow II in 1785 , and from 1815 the district of Jerichow II .

On July 1, 1950, Seedorf was incorporated into Nielebock.

In 1910 Nielebock had 261 inhabitants. The population increased to 273 by 1939 and in 1964 Nielebock and Seedorf had 390 inhabitants.

On May 18, 2009, the municipal council of Nielebock decided to dissolve itself by means of a territorial change agreement and to unite with 11 other municipalities to form a new unified municipality called the City of Jerichow . This contract was approved by the county as the lower local supervisory authority and came into effect on January 1, 2010.

At the same time, the Elbe-Stremme-Fiener administrative community ceased to exist, as all former member communities merged to form the new unified community “City of Jerichow” .

politics

The last mayor of Nielebock was Marion Luderer.

badges and flags

The coat of arms and flag were approved by the county on June 4, 2008.

Blazon : "Split of gold and red, in front three green ears of corn, behind a rising silver billy goat, on the head of the green corrugated shield foot a silver corrugated bar."

The colors of Nielebock are: Green – Gold (yellow).

On behalf of the municipal council, the municipal heraldist Jörg Mantzsch redesigned the common law coat of arms. The ears of wheat in the coat of arms symbolize the agriculture that is still practiced today. The green shield base refers to the wooded nature, while the buck is a reference to the place name.

The flag is green-yellow (1: 1) striped (horizontal shape: stripes running horizontally, lengthways shape: stripes running vertically) and centered with the coat of arms.
