Nine received mostly mediocre to positive ratings from professional music critics in the English-speaking world. The album achieved an average rating of 67% on Metacritic , based on ten reviews from English-language media.

Rinko Heidrich from laut.de rated Nine with two out of a possible five points. Above all, he complains that the band lacks creativity and that the sound has moved away from the punk rock of the previous albums. For example, “Travis Barker's chords and drum roll are known from an infinite number of Blink songs, as has the bold pop sound since the last album. This is no longer punk, but the ticket for Rock am Ring, ”whereby the musicians“ looked like embarrassing radio-pop uncles ”.
