Noah Bless (* 1968 in Cambridge , Massachusetts ) is an American jazz musician ( trombone ) of Latin and modern jazz .

Bless grew up in Cincinnati ; He received his bachelor's degree in classical and jazz interpreter from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and his master's degree from the Manhattan School of Music . Since arriving in New York City in 1990, Bless has worked with Latin jazz musicians such as Paquito D'Rivera , Mario Bauzá ( My Time Is Now , 1992), Willie Colón and Celia Cruz ; He also worked on recordings for Joris Teepe and Andy Middleton . Since then he has also played in numerous big bands and ensembles such as that of Don Braden , the Lincoln Center Afro-Cuban Jazz Orchestra , Vanguard Jazz Orchestra , Tito Puente Orchestra, Nick Levinovsky Big Band, David Berger & The Sultans of Swing, Joey Sellers ' Jazz Aggregation, Art Lillards Heavenly Big Band , in the Spanish Harlem Orchestra, Duke Ellington Legacy, Kamikaze Ground Crew , with Marc Anthony and La India. In 2003 Bless took third place in the Thelonious Monk competition . Currently (2019) he plays with Adam Kolker , Rich Perry , Roberta Piket and Hilliard Greene in the Billy Mintz Band. In the field of jazz he was involved in 24 recording sessions between 1992 and 2017, including a. with Virginia Mayhew , Josh Levinson and Vince Giordano ( Boardwalk Empire ).
