Obórki ( German Schönfeld ) is a village in the Polish rural community Olszanka ( Alzenau ) in the powiat Brzeski of the Opole Voivodeship .

Geographical location

The anger village Obórki is located in the eastern part of Lower Silesia in the Brieger Land. The village of Obórki is located about seven kilometers southeast of the municipality of Olszanka , about 16 kilometers southeast of the district town of Brzeg and about 35 kilometers northwest of the voivodeship capital Opole .

Obórki lies in the Nizina Śląska (Silesian Plain) within the Równina Wrocławska (Wroclaw Plain) . The Voivodeship Road Droga wojewódzka 401 and Droga wojewódzka 458 run through the village . East of the village is the Pępicki Potok (German Pampitzer Bach ), also called Pępicki Kanał (German Pampitzer Canal ).

The place was first mentioned in 1358 as Schönynwelth .

After the First Silesian War in 1742, Schönfeld and most of Silesia fell to Prussia .

After the reorganization of the province of Silesia , the rural community of Schönfeld belonged to the district of Brieg in the administrative district of Breslau from 1818 . In 1845 there was a Protestant church, a Protestant school, a castle, an outbuilding, a distillery and 78 other houses in the village. In the same year 386 people lived in Schönfeld, 18 of them Catholic. The Schönfeld district was founded in 1874 . The first head of office was the landowner Winckler. In 1885 405 people lived in Schönfeld.

In 1933 there were 439 people in Schönfeld, and in 1939 again 437 people. Until 1945 the village belonged to the district of Brieg .

As a result of the Second World War, Schönfeld, like most of Silesia, fell under Polish administration in 1945 . Subsequently, the place was renamed Obórki and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 it was incorporated into the Opole Voivodeship. In 1999, the place came to the newly founded Powiat Breszki ( Brieg district ).

Attractions

  • The Polish Catholic Church of St. Petrus and Paulus is a scrap wood church in the center of the village. A first church was mentioned as early as 1335. The current building was built in the 16th century. In 1534 the church became Protestant and served the evangelical community as a prayer house until 1945. In 1685 a renovation was carried out by the Carl von Mincowietz Foundation. The bell tower with onion helmet on the west side was built around 1755 in half-timbered construction. Inside there are paintings from 1685 in the nave and choir. The pulpit was built in the third quarter of the 17th century. The baptismal font dates from the 16th century. A Gothic winged altar was built around 1450 and is now in the Brieger Museum . The church is surrounded by a stone wall from the 15th and 16th centuries. The church has been a listed building since 1963.
  • The Roman Catholic Exaltation of the Cross was built between 1981 and 1986.
  • The Schönfeld Palace is a neo-baroque palace from 1888. The two-story building with a high attic has a three-story volute gable on the north facade. The castle has been a listed building since 1966.
  • The castle is surrounded by a landscape park that was laid out in the mid-19th century.
