course
The Oberrieder Bach, which flows entirely in the Frau-Holle-Land Geo-Nature Park (Werratal, Meissner, Kaufunger Wald) rises as Dudenbach . Its source lies on the north-northwest flank of the Hoher Meissner ( 753.6 m above sea level ) at the former Bransrode opencast mine, which belongs to Großalmerode, at an altitude of about 610 m .
The in the upper reaches also Duden Bach (also known as the left source Bach) called Bach initially flows - after passing under the woman Holle path - past the Holy Hill ( 583.4 m ) and at Bühlchen ( 537.2 m ) and then, from then on in Soodener Running through the mountains , through Dudenrode and then along state road 3239. From the point of view of the Ottersbach coming from the mountain meadows on the Hohen Meißner (also known as the right source brook) it is only called Oberrieder Bach and is 6.9 km long from there.
Slightly below this brook union, which is about 258 m above sea level, the Oberrieder Bach passes, after eating some fish ponds, the Hohlstein cave east of the creek on the slope of the Hämmelsberg ( 351.8 m ) (also called Kammerbacher Höhle or Hilgershäuser Höhle ) and that on the L 3240 located Hilgershausen south and east. It then flows north-northeast, passing the eastern Roßkopf ( 482.4 m ), continuing along the L 3240; In doing so, he crosses the European long-distance hiking trail E6 below the mountain .
Then the Oberrieder Bach flows through Oberrieden , only to flow into the Werra shortly after crossing under the B 27 at a height of about 140 m .
