Ōhira Masayoshi
Ōhira Masayoshi ( Japanese 大平 正芳 ; born March 12, 1910 in Wada (today: Kan'onji ), † June 12, 1980 in Tokyo ) was a statesman and the 68th and 69th Prime Minister of Japan .
From 1962 to 1964 and from 1972 to 1974 Ōhira was foreign minister, from 1974 to 1976 finance minister and from 7 December 1978 until his death the prime minister of his country.
In 1979 he chaired the G7 summit in Tokyo and hosted the conference. He was a member of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) , from which he was elected in 1978 as its party leader. His successor as Prime Minister was Zenko Suzuki ; The predecessor in office was Fukuda Takeo .
