Oliver Jasen Burke (born April 7, 1997 in Kirkcaldy ) is a Scottish football player . He is under contract in England with West Bromwich Albion .
Career
society
Burke, who came from the youth academy of Nottingham Forest , made his debut on September 19, 2014 for the English second division side's pros in a 3-1 defeat at first division side Tottenham Hotspur in the 2014/15 League Cup . He made his first league appearance on February 14, 2015 in a 4: 4 at Blackpool FC . Ten days after his league debut, he moved to third division Bradford City for a month on loan .
In the summer of 2016 he moved to the German Bundesliga for newly promoted and new league RB Leipzig . He signed a contract that runs until 2021. He made his Bundesliga debut on September 10, 2016 (2nd matchday) when he came on for Yussuf Poulsen in a 1-0 win in the home game against Borussia Dortmund . He scored his only Bundesliga goal on September 25, 2016 (5th match day) in a 1-1 away game against 1. FC Köln with the opening goal in the fifth minute.
After a year he left Leipzig again and joined the Premier League club West Bromwich Albion . Burke signed a five-year contract.
In January 2019, Burke was awarded to Celtic Glasgow . He made his debut for Celtic on January 19, 2019, in the 4th round of the Scottish Cup against third division side Airdrieonians FC . Four days later he played for the first time in the Scottish Premiership . In the home game at Celtic Park against FC St. Mirren , he scored two goals in a 4-0 win. With Celtic he won the championship and the cup .
National team
On March 29, 2016, Burke made his debut for the Scottish senior team in a 1-0 home win in the friendly against Denmark , after being appointed to the senior squad for the first time by national coach Gordon Strachan . In May 2017, the Scottish Federation nominated Burke for the U-20 national team that took part in the summer tournament in Toulon . On his first use, Burke scored two hits.
