At the 2000 Summer Olympics in the Australian metropolis of Sydney , two trampoline gymnastics competitions were held for the first time .

The venue was the Sydney SuperDome in the Sydney Olympic Park .

A starter from Russia won each of the two competitions : Alexander Moskalenko had made his comeback for the men in the run-up to the games after trampoline gymnastics was included in the Olympic program. He lived up to his role as a favorite and won the gold medal. Irina Karawajewa started as the reigning world champion in 1998 and 1999 and also won the women’s favorite.
