The competition diving from 3-meter board of the men at the 2012 Olympics in London was on 6 and 7 August 2012 at London Aquatics Center held. 29 athletes took part.

Each of the 29 starters was entitled to six qualifying jumps. The 18 best jumpers qualified for the semi-finals, the points from the qualification were deleted. Six jumps were completed again in the semi-finals. The 12 best jumpers made it to the final, in which the points were deleted again. In the final, too, there were six jumps.

In total, only five jumps achieved a rating of over 90 points. With 93.60 points, the Canadian François Imbeau-Dulac managed the jump with the best mark in the qualification in the sixth round.

Stephan Feck failed his second jump completely. After he slipped while jumping, he could no longer control his jump and landed on his back. He went on the board for the third jump, but he skipped the fourth, fifth and sixth attempts.

With 104.50 points in the last jump, Olympic champion Ilya Sakharov from Russia made the jump with the best score in the competition. Already in the semi-finals he managed a jump with a score of over 100 points. The Briton Christopher Mears completed the third jump over 100 points in this discipline with 100.70 points in the last attempt.
Sakharov is the first Russian Olympic champion in jumping.
