Estonia wanted to take part in the 1924 Winter Olympics in Chamonix with an athlete. The Estonian NOK had reported 1 athlete who did not compete.

Result: Estonia's only participant should be the Luxembourg-based speed skater Christfried Burmeister . He was not given any chance of a medal. He was present at the opening ceremony, where the Estonian flag was also carried into the stadium. But he was missing from the competitions. Why it didn't start is still unknown today. Following the Winter Games, Burmeister took part in the all-around world championships in Helsinki , where he finished in 13th place. He made his real Olympic debut four years later in St. Moritz .
