The Wuhletal hiking trail is a Berlin hiking trail . It leads from Ahrensfelde in the northeast through the Wuhletal to the Berlin-Köpenick S-Bahn station in southeast Berlin. Its length is 15.4 kilometers. The Wuhletal hiking trail, number 14, is part of the network of 20 green main paths in Berlin. This is a compilation of 20 hiking trails through the Berlin urban area with a total length of around 550 kilometers. The aim is to link “residential areas with the diverse recreational opportunities in parks and local recreation areas in Berlin and Brandenburg ” (Senate Department for Urban Development and the Environment). The pedestrian should have the opportunity to “experience the city intensely as a combination of culture, history and ecology”.

course

The Wuhltalweg accompanies the Wuhle from Ahrensfelde to its confluence with the Spree. Until the 1980s, the Wuhle was more of a sewer than a clean brook in which small fish live. The park-like northern Wuhletal was expanded as a compensatory measure for the large settlements of Marzahn and Hellersdorf . Behind the 97 meter high Kienberg are the Gardens of the World (subject to entry) , which is worth a detour. South of the federal highway B1 / B5 , the path leads through single-family house areas and is a promenade for residents. The Wuhletalweg, partly also signposted as the “Wuhletal-Wanderweg”, runs alternately over the banks of the Wuhle, mainly through parks and green areas.

Way next to the Wuhle

Marzahn

The Wuhletalweg begins at the northern edge of the oak park ( Döllner Straße ) and continues the Barnim Dörferweg (main path 13) to the south. The “unofficial”, northern start of the hiking trail is at the Ahrensfelde S-Bahn station . From there the main path along Havemannstraße through the Marzahner locality Ahrensfelde-Süd , past the Ahrensfelder Terrassen to Kemberger Straße at a climbing tower, the “Wuhletalwächter”, can be reached. The Wuhle comes from Ahrensfelde from the area around the regional train station Ahrensfelde Friedhof and crosses under the Dorfstraße from Ahrensfelde. In addition, the Wuhlegraben donates water from a wet meadow area 2.5 kilometers to the northeast, which connects to the Bergstrasse settlement in Ahrensfelde north of the oak park on the Wuhle. The main path leads on a path near the city limits that is formed by the Wuhle through the oak park to the south. The Wuhletalweg leads past the Marzahn intercultural garden and between Grenzteich and the corner of Kemberger / Havemannstrasse, where the climbing rock is located. Finally the path meets the Neue Wuhle, where the park landscape of the oak park merges into the Ahrensfeld mountains as part of the landscape park Wuhletal . The Humboldt Spur ends on the north bank of the Neue Wuhle . The Neue Wuhle is crossed on a footbridge and to the right of the path is the protected landscape component (gLB) 'Weidengrund' and the hiking trail continues near the Neuen Wuhle and at a distance of 250 meters from the elevation at 113  m above sea level. NN over. The Neue Wuhle is approaching the Wuhle, which continues to form the city limits. In front of Landsberger Allee, the park strip, which extends over the state border with Brandenburg as grassland, narrows to 150 meters, on the right is the Fasanenpfuhl, which is used as a rain retention basin. At Landsberger Allee , the main path leads to the left on the north side to the Nikolai-E.-Bersarin-Brücke .

Hellersdorf

Zossener Strasse

Under this bridge the Wuhle changes to the district of Hellersdorf . Since the border between Berlin and the Ahrensfeld locality Eiche-Süd lies in the middle of Landsberger Chaussee, the Wuhletalweg runs around 40 meters outside the Berlin city area because of the northeast bypassing the intersection. In the south, the hiking trail runs parallel to Zossener Straße on the eastern bank of the Wuhle through the Wiesenpark . Between Wuhle, Neuer Wuhle, a district heating pipe and on the left side of Zossener Straße with the M6 tram , continue south, then parallel to Luckenwalder Straße . The Hönower Weg meets eastwards from Kyritzer Straße . Both main routes (07 and 14) run together to the Hellersdorfer Bridge, on which Eisenacher Straße bridges the Wuhle. Here the Hönower Weg turns west again to Marzahn. In addition, Eisenacher Strasse also leads to the entrance to the Gardens of the World , which are located in the west (Hellersdorfer Berge) on the Kienberg ( 102  m above sea level ). Hauptweg 14 is on the Hellersdorf side of the Wuhle, parallel to Suhler Straße , past the Caspar David Friedrich School and through the Jelena Šantić Peace Park ( 61  m above sea level ) with the Hasenpfuhl . The Feldberger Ring with multi-storey apartment blocks approaches , followed by the Sonnenkieker with residential houses . Here in the “Wuhletal” the eastern bank park of the Wuhle is a bit narrow with 30 meters between the buildings and the Wuhleufer, on the (now) Biesdorf side lies the Wuhleteich (with the district boundary ). On the following Cecilienstraße , the Wuhleweg leads on the Wuhleufer under the Cecilienbrücke . Then it goes next to the KGA 'Teterower Ring' to the 'Stadion Wuhletal'. On the southern edge of the KGA, district heating pipes cross the Wuhle westwards. The east bank of the Wuhle is not accessible at the following Kaulsdorf clarification ponds. The Wuhletalweg is therefore led on the northern edge of the stadium over a footbridge to the Biesdorf side.

Biesdorf

Landhausring in Berlin-Biesdorf

After about 100 meters on the westward path, the district of Biesdorf is reached (in the grassland) . In the part of the Wuhleniederung called “Wuhlgarten” after another 100 meters, the path coming from the forester's house (wildlife care station) is taken to the left, past the Landhausring on the right , the Griesingerpark, the KGA 'Wuhlgarten' and the carp pond on the left. Further to the west, near the Blumberger Damm, are the MEON industrial park (medical technology), the Wilhelm Griesinger Hospital and the Berlin Accident Hospital . After about one kilometer, the Wuhletalweg meets the Altentreptower Straße . Here the district of Biesdorf is left for the time being and Hellersdorf is reached again at the flow of the Wuhle under Altentreptower Straße on the other bank of the Wuhle .

The Wuhletalweg uses the passage at the Wuhletal train station

To the south of the street is the Wuhletal U and S-Bahn station , and on this side of the Wuhle is the ideal route of Hauptweg 14. Through the train station (unique in Berlin the stop of S-Bahn and U-Bahn trains on the same platform), turn right to the waterway bridge in front of the Kaulsdorf cemetery at the station exit. In front of her, the main path leaves the district of Hellersdorf again.

In front of the waterway bridge is the triple border point of the districts of Hellersdorf, Biesdorf and Kaulsdorf in the Hellersdorf-Marzahn district . However, Hauptweg 14 only touches Kaulsdorf , from there comes Kaulsdorfer Weg . Together with the Wuhleweg (No. 14), the Kaulsdorfer Weg (No. 08) uses the waterway bridge on the west bank of the Wuhle. Hauptweg 08 continues to the west on the underground line to the Biesdorf cemetery . The main route 14 remains close to Wuhlen in its course south to southeast through the forest and meadow area of the Wuhletal landscape park east of the Biesdorfer Höhe . This elevation with 81  m above sea level. NHN is accessible from the Wuhle as a viewing platform. The main path itself reaches the Frankfurter Brücke on the B 1 / B 5 federal road , past a dog sports field .

Wuhletal landscape park

At the bridge, a side path leads to the main road, the main path itself crosses under the carriageway right next to the Wuhle. This means that the Alt-Biesdorf road is safe to pass. Passing a property, turn right to Möwenweg and then past the Mosbacher Bridge . To the left of the main path on the other side of the Wuhle are the KGA 'Mosbacher Straße' and 'Neues Leben', on the right the KGA 'Neues Leben Grüne Aue' and 'Neues Leben Wuhleweg'. Through the Brodersengarten with a skater facility , it goes in a Wuhlebogen through the butterfly meadows.

Mosbacher Bridge

On the butterfly meadows, a park path leads to the right through the Biesdorf city park to Apollofalterallee and then through Lindenstrasse to Köpenicker Strasse and the Elsterwerdaer Platz underground station . The main path meets the Honsfelder Straße pedestrian bridge and the KGA 'Wuhleblick' on the opposite bank of the Wuhle. The 50-meter-wide parking strip widens in front of the Heesestrasse bridge, where Dramburger Strasse meets Heesestrasse . The Wuhle is crossed on this bridge and the Kaulsdorf district is reached in Heerstraße.

Kaulsdorf

The Wuhletalweg leads southwards from Heerstraße on the east bank of the Wuhle . Here the Wuhle forms the border between the districts of Biesdorf and Kaulsdorf . The Wuhle has a basin-like enlargement, the Wuhleblase . The main path runs parallel to the An der Wuhle street behind their property. The Uferweg thus reaches Lindenstrasse at the Zimmermannstrasse Bridge .

Biesdorf South

Wuhleblase

With the change of the Wuhleufers over the Zimmermannstrasse bridge into the Zimmermannstrasse the district boundary to Biesdorf is crossed again. The Wuhletalweg continues in a southerly direction and reaches the Wuhlesee . On the right of the path, a 50 meter wide green corridor extends to the Wateweg , which is bordered by the properties on Köpenicker Straße. The green corridor is interrupted by the KGA 'Köpenicker Wiesen', which has only eight parcels. The end of the Wuhlesees is reached on Hadubrandstrasse, followed by the Buchenhain Bridge. It connects Buchenhainer Strasse in Biesdorf with Strasse 19 in Kaulsdorf. The Wuhletalweg continues on the west bank of the Wuhle along the property on Nitzwalder Straße to the Bismarcksfelder Bridge. Along the way there are memorial steles for the former forced labor camp Kaulsdorfer Straße on the opposite bank of the Wuhle. Cross the bridge, a footbridge for pedestrians and cyclists, to switch to the east bank of the Wuhle and thus back to the Kaulsdorf district.

Koepenick

Around 60 meters south of the Bismarckfelder Bridge is the common border point between the districts of Biesdorf, Kaulsdorf and Köpenick . The Wuhletalweg now leaves the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district and reaches the Köpenick district in the Treptow-Köpenick district . It follows the course of the Wuhle southwards, past the confluence of the Bischofstaler Straße to an approximately 40 meter wide green extension at the Hoppendorfer Bridge. The Hoppendorfer Straße is crossed. On the opposite bank of the Wuhle there is an extension of the Wuhlheide and the Wuhlheide Innovation Park. From here, the Wuhlheide S-Bahn station can be reached via Straße am Wald and Köpenicker Straße . In the further course of the Wuhle hiking trail, several footbridges connect the path with the other bank of the Wuhle, for example on Argenauer Straße / Pieperstwinkel , on Zum Wuhleblick and on Birnbaumer Straße . Allotment gardens (Wuhlewiesen colony) lie on the right bank.

The Wuhletalweg crosses Lindenstrasse at the Pyramidenbrücke

The Wuhlewanderweg leads back to the western bank of the Wuhle via the footbridge on Birnbaumer Straße. Here it meets the E11 European hiking trail , and both follow the Wuhlelauf southwards. On the right is the allotment garden 'Am Bahndamm'. Now the path meets the street Am Bahndamm , which runs parallel to the S-Bahn line to Erkner . On this road the bank of the Wuhle is changed for the last time in an easterly direction. After about 50 meters the entrance to the multi-storey car park of the Forum Köpenick is reached and on it the railway line is crossed. (The hiking trail E11 continues on the street Am Bahndamm eastwards to Mahlsdorfer Strasse at the Köpenick train station .) The Wuhle hiking trail continues on the east bank of the Wuhle through the Köpenicker Dammvorstadt . The next step is the Schinderbrücke on Hämmerlingstrasse . Then there are allotments on the way (Wuhlemuende colony). On the other bank of the Wuhle are sports fields and the stadium An der Alten Försterei of 1. FC Union Berlin . At the pyramid bridge which is Linde road crossing, a main road , the Köpenick with Oberschoeneweide connects and to which the tram lines 27, 60 operate and 67th The hiking trail remains on the left side of the Wuhle, it ends at the confluence of the Wuhle in the Spree .
