East wind (row)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ostwind is a book and film series based on the idea of Lea Schmidbauer and Kristina Magdalena Henn . The stories revolve around the horse Ostwind , who lives on the fictional Kaltenbach estate . In addition to books and feature films, the Ostwind franchise also includes other book series, radio plays, computer games and magazines. The stories are marketed internationally under the name Windstorm .

Emergence

Henn and Schmidbauer worked together even before the Ostwind series. Their first successful project was the script for Groupies Don't Stay for Breakfast , which they developed for SamFilm . Schmidbauer says that she and Henn finished the script for Ostwind back in 2009 after SamFilm wanted to produce a film about horses. Originally it was also planned not to continue the film. After the success of the usual book version of Carola Wimmer's film material , Schmidbauer and Henn continued the series as a book with Ostwind - Return to Kaltenbach . After this too was unexpectedly successful, production for Ostwind 2 began . Schmidbauer and Henn wrote the script for this film, too, followed by the third book Ostwind - Aufbruch nach Ora . Schmidbauer wrote the other books and scripts alone.

action

East wind - together we are free

Mika spends her summer holidays at her grandmother's horse farm, Gut Kaltenbach. There she befriends the impetuous and dangerous stallion Ostwind , whom her grandmother Maria Kaltenbach actually wants to sell. With the help of the riding trainer Kaan, she learns to deal with the east wind and to ride on it. At a horse show, Mika would like to show her grandmother what Ostwind is capable of in order to save him from being sold. When the horse breaks out due to sabotage, Mika flees Kaltenbach on the east wind and rides to her friend's holiday camp. Once there, both collapse. Mika is reconciled with her family and Ostwind is able to escape the evacuation.

Return to Kaltenbach

Mika spends her summer holidays at her grandmother's Kaltenbach stud. The equestrian center is on the verge of ruin because of a competing company: the modern facility is in danger of poaching all riding students. Your participation in a tournament could save the stud. And so she begins to train with her horse Ostwind in order to be able to take part in a competition. Only with a victory can she avert the bankruptcy of the court. While preparing for the tournament, both Ostwind and Mika discover their interest in the opposite sex. For the stallion it is a runaway gray mare, for Mika the young Milan who helps Mika with the training after she helped him bring the gray mare back to him.

Mika fails to win the tournament because of a fainting spell. She helps Milan, who stole the gray mare to save her from death in an illegal concealing shop. The stud was saved from bankruptcy because the Hessian police charged it with the accommodation of the horses confiscated in the stoner.

Departure for Ora

Mika still doesn't know exactly what she's looking for in life and turns her back on Gut Kaltenbach without further ado. Together with her stallion Ostwind she makes her way to Andalusia, where she wants to find the legendary place "Ora", where Ostwind has its roots.

In southern Spain, Mika meets self-confident Samantha, who helps her father Pedro run the horse farm. However, Pedro has been in a bitter quarrel with his sister Tara for years, who prefers to live in freedom with her horses rather than lock them in boxes.

When a company threatens the untouched landscape, Mika has a brilliant idea: The legendary "Source of Ora" should be saved with a horse race.

Looking for tomorrow

Mika returned to Kaltenbach alone after she gave Ostwind freedom at the end of the third part in Andalusia. 34 Ostwind gives birth to a foal called Ora . But when Ora needs help, Ostwind also returns to Kaltenbach. This fourth part of the book series was not made into a film.

Ari's arrival

Since the fourth book was not made into a film, there are clearer differences between book and film to fill the narrative gap.

Grandmother Maria, Sam and the riding instructor Kaan try together to keep Gut Kaltenbach running, which is in financial difficulties. The ambitious Isabell supports her in this, although she secretly pursues her own goals.

The impulsive Ari comes to Kaltenbach for riding training, where she develops a special relationship with Ostwind , the eponymous horse of the film series, and she also befriends Mika. Mika and Ari try together to save the estate and to protect Ostwind from the ruthless horse trainer Thordur Thorvaldson.
