Otto zur Lippe-Brake

Otto zur Lippe-Brake (born September 21, 1589 in Detmold ; † November 18, 1657 in Blomberg ) was Count zur Lippe-Brake .

Life

Otto was born on September 21, 1589 as the son of Simon VI. zur Lippe and Elisabeth zu Holstein-Schaumburg (* 1556).

When the father died, the elder brother Otto, took Simon VII. To the lip , the government of the country, while the youngest, Philip I of Schaumburg-Lippe , which later in Bückeburg own ruling line Schaumburg-Lippe -founded. In 1621 the land was divided again and Otto founded the Lippe-Brake line, which died out in 1709.

Under the company name Der Braun , he was accepted as a member of the Fruit-Bringing Society .

On October 5, 1626 he married Countess Margarethe von Nassau-Dillenburg (born September 6, 1606 in Beilstein , † January 30, 1661 in Brake ), daughter of Georg von Nassau-Dillenburg , with whom he had 12 children.

Otto died in Blomberg on November 18, 1657 .
