Pedophile movement

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The pedophile movement is the name given to the efforts of various circles and groups in Western countries which, from the second half of the 20th century, claimed to represent the interests of pedophiles . Since the 1950s there have been groups around the world that campaign for the rights of people with pedophile sexual preferences and, in some cases, limit or lower the age of consent and seek legalization of (consensual) pedosexual contacts.

At the time of their formation, these groups received support from the left-alternative political spectrum as part of the sexual revolution and also had connections to the homosexual emancipation movement ; in the 1980s and 1990s, however, these groups were largely isolated and for the most part disbanded. Since the mid-2000s, there have been new groups in various countries with a different orientation, which considers pedophilia separately from sexual assault and which focuses on the concerns of non-violent pedophiles. Their aim is not to legalize currently illegal content or sexual contact with children, but to support pedophiles not to commit attacks. This includes the endeavor to dissolve the stigmatization of pedophile tendencies and equate them with sexual assault or moral depravity in society.

The disputes about the recognition of pedophilia as “sexual identity” are not over in the scientific field either. A distinction between pedophilia , in which the coveted object is in the prepubertal stage, and the affection for adolescents described under Hebephilia is often not made in public, but is of importance from a sexual science perspective. The taboo of a " cross-generational sexual relationship" is and has not always been valid.

history

The first association of pedophile men took place in The Hague in the 1950s with the so-called enclave circle . In it, men of different nationalities with a sexual preference for children banded together and expelled u. a. Books and brochures on the subject of pedophiles. In 1970, first in Rotterdam and later in other cities and countries, associations of pedophile men emerged who publicly advocated the legalization of pedosexual contacts. In the following years u. a. in the USA the North American Man / Boy Love Association (NAMBLA) , in France the Groupe de recherche pour une enfance différente (GRED) , in the UK the Pedophile Information Exchange (PIE) and in Belgium De Rooie Vlinder .

In West Germany there was the first magazine, Pikbube, from 1970 that dealt specifically with topics related to pedophilia. Founded by the Berlin publisher Helmut W. Bendt , the magazine advanced to become the first reservoir for West German pedophiles. Contacts with the enclave circle resulted in the establishment of the German Working Group of Affected Persons of Section 175 (DAB 175) in 1973, which was renamed the German Pedophile Working Group in 1974 and is probably the first West German pedophile organization. However, the DAP did not manage to create stable organizational structures, not least because it arose rather from the conservative political spectrum and therefore vehemently distanced itself from the emerging second gay movement. Bendt commented on the failure with bitterness: “New confused ideologies are poisoning our society. We should make it our business to protect our young friends from infection as much as possible. Sociology and psychology roll over nonsensical ›knowledge‹ [...] the world is gradually turning into a madhouse. ”It was not until 1979 that the Deutsche Studien- und Arbeitsgemeinschaft Pädophilie e. V. (DSAP) , which expanded in the 1980s, founded several regional groups and published its own magazine. It can be seen as the first publicly appearing organization of the pedophile movement. Internal conflicts, however, made the DSAP very troubled from the beginning of the 1980s, so that the organization was increasingly inhibited in its activities. In 1983 the DSAP disbanded. The Indian commune had existed as early as 1972 , initially in Heidelberg and later in Nuremberg, as a “children's rights initiative” that also advocated pedosexual relationships. The women and girls group Oranien-Strassekommune (Berlin), which was formed in 1979, was closely connected to her .

In the 1990s, the AG-Pädo and the Krumme 13 group were founded . The AG Pädo was founded in 1991 as a working group of the Federal Association of Homosexuality (BVH) and saw itself as a forum and networking of the pedagogical, self-help and emancipation groups prepared for this . After the BVH dissolved itself, from 1997 onwards it was a specialist group of the Humane Sexualität (AHS) working group . Triggered by research by the journalist Manfred Karremann , there were investigations against members of the Munich group from October 2003, and the rooms of the educational center of the Humanist Union of Bavaria where the group met were also searched. This was justified with the suspicion of the formation of a criminal organization . In its decision of October 18, 2004, the Bavarian Supreme Court came to the conclusion that there were no criminal acts. The arrest warrants against members of the group were then overturned. In any subsequent constitutional complaint alleging the Federal Constitutional Court , the lower courts as at inception of the arrest warrant "targeted" were taken into account not previously present investigation results, which would set out the suspicion of forming a criminal organization as not applicable. In November 2004 the group was formally dissolved by the general assembly of the AHS, continued to exist separately for a while and then became inactive.

The Krumme 13 group was created in 1993 initially to help pedophiles to help themselves and since 2001 has also appeared publicly with the claim to educate people about this form of sexuality . She campaigned for the legalization of sexual contact between adults and children . There is an internet platform under the name Krumme 13 , which is operated by Dieter Gieseking, an avowed pedophile convicted of distributing child pornography .

The majority of these groups consisted of pedophiles whose sexuality was oriented towards boys, with the exception of the Orange Street Commune , who renamed themselves Sewer Rats in the 1980s and advocated the legalization of pedosexual contacts between girls and women as a priority.

Self-help groups for pedophiles have existed in numerous German cities since the late 1970s . Critics have repeatedly accused them in the past of playing down the consequences of sexual abuse and of using their meetings to exchange child pornography media.

In recent years, a number of discussion forums on pedophilia on the Internet have emerged , which use the medium for self-expression, as a political discussion forum and for the dissemination of advantageously interpreted, scientific studies. In the majority of these forums, a pedosexualist self- image is represented, and consensual pedosexual contacts are considered possible in principle, but in some cases one speaks explicitly against any form of sexual contact with children. There are also other websites that are primarily intended to be a source of information on the subject of pedophilia and which would like to make scientific publications on the subject of pedophilia accessible. Since as a rule writings are also published on these pages that assume a fundamental possibility of harmless pedosexual contacts, these pages are also criticized.

From 2004 to 2006, the online initiative “Responsibility for Children” was the first project in which pedophiles acknowledged their inclination, but rejected pedosexual contacts in principle. The aim was to create a contact point for pedophiles who were aware of the ethical problems of their inclinations and to carry out educational work. In 2006, one of the operators of “Responsibility for Children” (who was active under the pseudonym “Marco”) continued with the information platform Schicksal-und-Herausendung.de, which pursues the same goals. This platform still exists today under new operators. Since 2012 there has been an American forum called Virtuous Pedophiles as well as other projects in various countries that also offer pedophiles contact points for other pedophiles who do not want to be assaulted and who support each other in this. Recognized sexologists describe this development as the best way to date to reach potential perpetrators among pedophiles and prevent them from committing an act before they are ever assaulted.

In parts of the pedophile movement, April 25th is celebrated annually as Pedophile Pride Day or Alice Day , especially by people who sexually desire prepubescent girls (“girl lovers”). On this day in 1856, the four-year-old Alice Liddell and the writer Lewis Carroll , who is believed to have a pedophile relationship with Liddell, first met. The relationship inspired Carroll, whose pedophile inclination is unproven, to the novels Alice in Wonderland and Alice behind the mirrors .

Theories

Demands for a lowering of the age of consent or a general legalization of pedosexual contacts were spread by various groups and discussed in numerous forums on the Internet. In the Netherlands, the Partij voor Naastenliefde, Vrijheid en Diversiteit has existed since 2006 , which advocates a restoration of the statutory age limit of twelve years, as it was in the Netherlands from 1985 to 2002. The Dutch pedophile group Vereniging Martijn existed from 1982 to 2014 when it was dissolved by a court order.

Proponents of a demand for legalization or partial legalization refer, among other things, to sexual science theories that were developed primarily in the 1970s and 1980s. Helmut Kentler and Ernest Bornemann were of the opinion that pedosexual, physically and psychologically non-violent sexual acts do not necessarily have to have negative consequences for the child. Such events would not be triggered by what is usually experienced as harmless or even pleasurable, but rather by the subsequent dramatization by the social environment. The emeritus professor of sociology at the University of Bremen, Rüdiger Lautmann , presented in his treatise Die Lust am Kind. Portrait of the pedophile depicts pedosexual contacts as positive. He only described the pedophile's point of view without any critical comment. Lautmann has since distanced himself from his writing as being misunderstood.

An essential sex science argument against the release is the question of the ability to consent . In addition, it is stated that the damage that pedosexual contacts can have for the children concerned is being played down. According to the sociologist Gerhard Amendt , any form of sexuality with children is problematic: “With regard to the interests of children, however, the distinction between violence and non-violence is completely irrelevant. Every form of pedophilia crosses the line between adults and children ”.

Statements that assume that pedosexual contacts are harmless are covered in Germany by the fundamental right to freedom of expression and are not relevant under criminal law . For a number of years, however, efforts have been made to ban the distribution of pedosexualist texts by changing the law. Such a ban has existed in Belgium since 1986.
