history

The scattered settlement belonging to the Friedland dominion was created after 1750 on the Ueberschaar hill along the road between Lusdorf and Bad Liebwerda . The place name derives from the field name “Uberar” and refers to a forest or pasture land that was not divided when the two Waldhufendörfer Lusdorf and Bad Liebwerda were founded.

In 1832 Ueberschaar consisted of 33 houses, 31 of which belonged to Lusdorf and two single shifts to Bad Liebenwerda. The parish was in Lusdorf. Ueberschaar remained subject to the allodial rule of Friedland until the middle of the 19th century .

After the abolition of patrimonial , from 1850, Übersar formed a part of the municipality of Lusdorf in the Bunzlauer Kreis and judicial district of Friedland . From 1868 the village belonged to the Friedland district . In 1896, the path between Lusdorf and Bad Liebenwerda was expanded into a street. From 1911 the village belonged to the newly formed judicial district Neustadt an der Tafelfichte . The Czech name Přebytek was introduced in 1924. At the beginning of 1931, the German elementary school in Übersar was closed after the number of children enrolled had dropped to five. Stefan Hausmann from Übersar had the excursion restaurant "Riesenfaß" built in 1931, based on the model of the giant barrel on the Jaberlich, between Übersar and Bad Liebwerda . After the Munich Agreement , it was incorporated into the German Reich in 1938; Until 1945, Übersar belonged to the Friedland district . After the end of World War II, Přebytek came back to Czechoslovakia and most of the German-Bohemian residents were expelled. In 1960 Přebytek was incorporated together with Ludvíkov pod Smrkem to Nové Město pod Smrkem ; at the same time, the Okres Frýdlant was dissolved and the village was assigned to the Okres Liberec . In 1979, an outdoor swimming pool was built at the source of the Přebytecký potok, which has since been closed.
