Pashchimi Singhbhum ( Hindi : पश्चिमी सिंहभूम जिला; English West Singhbhum district ) is a district in the Indian state of Jharkhand .

The district is located in the south of Jharkhand. It was created on January 16, 1990, when what was then the Singhbhum District was split up into Pashchimi Singhbhum and Purbi Singhbhum . On April 1, 2001, part of the district was separated and has since formed the newly established Seraikela Kharsawan district . The district administration is located in the city of Chaibasa . The district covers an area of ​​5351.41 km².
