Purbi Singhbhum ( Hindi : पूर्वी सिंहभूम जिला; English East Singhbhum district ) is a district in the Indian state of Jharkhand .

The district is located in the southeast of Jharkhand. It was created on January 16, 1990, when what was then the Singhbhum District was split up into Pashchimi Singhbhum and Purbi Singhbhum. The district administration is located in the city of Jamshedpur . The district extends over an area of ​​3533 km².
