Seraikela Kharsawan ( Oriya : ଷଢେଇଖଳା ଖରସୁଆଁ ଜିଲ୍ଲା; also Saraikela Kharsawan ) is a district in the Indian state of Jharkhand .
The district is located in the south of Jharkhand on the territory of the former princely states of Seraikela and Kharsawan . The district was established on April 1, 2001, when it was separated from the Pashchimi Singhbhum district . The district administration is located in the city of Seraikela . The district extends over an area of 2657 km².
