Patrick Joseph Sullivan (born March 17, 1865 in County Cork , Ireland , † April 8, 1935 in Santa Barbara , California ) was an American Republican politician .

Sullivan was born on a farm just west of Bantry , County Cork, Ireland in 1865 . In 1888 he immigrated to the United States , where he arrived in New York City and moved on to the Wyoming Territory . There Sullivan worked in Rawlins , Carbon County raising sheep before moving to Casper , Natrona County in 1892 . From 1894 to 1896 and again from 1898 to 1900 Sullivan was a member of the Wyoming House of Representatives , in between he was Mayor of Casper from 1897 to 1898. On December 5, 1929, he was sent to the US Senate to fill the seat that had become vacant due to the death of Francis E. Warren until a new Senator was elected. Sullivan was a member of the US Senate as a senator from December 5, 1929 to November 20, 1930. Sullivan died in Santa Barbara, California in 1935 and was buried in Casper's Highland Cemetery .
