Patty McCormack (* 21st August 1945 in New York City as Patricia Ellen Russo ) is an American theater and film actress who has been standing frühester Childhood front of the camera and on stage.

Patty's McCormack's parents weren't in show business. Her father was a firefighter, her mother a professional roller skater . Nevertheless, she was booked as a model at the age of four. At six, she had small roles in two films. At the same time, her stage career began on Broadway . She also attended New Utrecht High School .

McCormack was eight years old when she appeared on the American television series Mama and on Broadway at the same time . There she played a role that would make her famous: the Rhoda Penmark, a diabolical and murderous girl in the play The Bad Seed . McCormarck and her stage partner Nancy Kelly , who played her mother, were offered in 1956 to play their theater roles in the planned film adaptation of the play as well. The cinema production was not just a financial success. McCormack, Kelly and Eileen Heckart received nominations in the actor categories at the 1957 Academy Awards , and Heckart and McCormack each received a nomination for the Golden Globe Award . At the time, McCormack, at 11 years and 181 days, was the youngest actress ever nominated for the Academy Award in the “Best Supporting Actress” category . This record was to be set six years later by her compatriot Mary Badham ( Who disturbs the nightingale ). Private life

Patty McCormack's personal life has been calm and without scandal. In 1967 she married the restorer Bob Catania. The relationship resulted in a son and a daughter. After the divorce in 1973, she was in a relationship with the author Ernest Thompson for eight years.
